On 1995 a fire burnt most of the forest arround Shaar Hagay and many of the houses in Shoresh. An old man who lost his house was intreviewed by the TV. He was asked what was the most valuable item that was lost. He answered "The photos". At a certain stage while the fire seemed to be undefeatable, we were ordered to leave our house. But luckily nothing happened. My conclusion after returning home, was to prepare for future events, an emergency suitcase with all our documents and photos. Later on I bought a scaner and copied everything to a disk. . This disk was the origin of this site. A year after the fire, I went to Shaar Hagay to take pictures. I was amazed how nature rehabilitated itself so fast. The first show Shaar Hagay includes these photos.
